Safety was in the spotlight on the final day of gasworld’s North America Industrial Gas Conference 2017 in Houston, TX. At the opening Keynote Address, the FBI’s Anthony Bliss and SSA Mond Mugiya gave an eye-opening presentation on how to prevent the exploitation of chemicals in the creation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD).
Bliss clarified, “We’re focused on outreach and raising awareness about certain chemical threats facing the homeland.”
The WMD Directorate is part of the FBI – the lead agency responsible for investigating violations of WMD-related issues. It develops threat mitigation strategies to prevent WMD occurrences, but is specifically focused on deterring, detecting, and disrupting the use of chemical weapons and terrorism incidents.
