Gas analysis experts Servomex has successfully delivered its oxygen analyser technology to a multi-million-dollar purified terephthalic (PTA) facility in the Indonesian city of Merak.

Announced today, April 12th, the project is part of INEOS Aromatics Indonesia (INEOUS AI)’s $70m upgrade investment to reduce emissions and increase capacity at its plant.

The delivery includes two Servomex gas analyser systems, which come with a pressure reduction pre-sample conditioner enclosure and a SERVOTOUGH OxyExact 2200 – a high specification oxygen analyser.

By installing the large oxidation reactor, and reconfiguring and revamping other components, the company could reduce the site’s carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per tonne by 15%, with site capacity also increasing 15% from 500,000 tonnes to 575,000 tonnes per annum.

Commenting on the project, Shelley Moore, Global Head of Systems, Servomex, said, “Our highly-valued team members of the Systems Engineering group based at Texas ensured the highest quality design and build of the systems and completed the project ahead of schedule to the delight of our customer.”

According to INEOUS AI’s President Director, Frank Yang, the investment is part of the company’s commitment to producing essential products while reducing emissions to net-zero by 2050.
