Servomex has revealed to gasworld that is to design and supply a complete gas monitoring system for a new Pure Terephthalic Acid (PTA) plant being built in Portugal by Artenius, a subsidiary of chemical company La Seda de Barcelona S.A, at Sines in Portugal.
To be installed at the Sines plant in Portugal, Servomex will supply seven SERVOTOUGH SpectraExact (2500) process gas analysers and seven SERVOTOUGH OxyExact (2200) process oxygen analysers.
The UK-based company will also be managing the design and build of the overall analyser system for the Sines plant – building on its status as a world leader in PTA gas analysis, having installed monitoring systems for no less than 12 PTA plants worldwide in just five years.
The agreement, contracted to Servomex through Aker Solutions UK, will cover the supply of analysers, sampling systems, spare parts and service to Sines, which will produce 700,000 tons per year of PTA – a primary material used in the manufacture of PET packaging.
