SGD releases telemetry range

0

New Jersey based SGD Inc, has introduced a series of telemetry units aimed at distributors, offering an alternative to costly renting of equipment.
Frank Scornavacca, President of SGD, commented, “With the new SGD units, distributors can now get out from under the control of the major gas suppliers for this technology. It eliminates the on-going rental costs and also provides distributors with the freedom to change bulk suppliers should that become necessary. By owning their own units, they can actually collect fees from their customers, thus adding to their bottom line.”
The company has released three types of telemetry units that allow easy monitoring of liquid or gas in any sized bulk tank. All models benefit from simple installation, adjustable alarm set points and automatic gas supplier notification.
The range consists of different models according to price and application;
• The simplest unit, STU 6601, which is PLC driven and features a monochromatic LCD displaying volume %. These devices provide 0-5 or 0-10 VDC input and operate using a telephone line.
• The mid-range model, STU 6602, provides 0-5 VDC, 1-5 VDC, 0-10 VDC, or 4-20Ma, is password protected and also operates via a phone line. Moreover, the CPU based device features a 4.3 inch colour touch screen which depicts % volume.
• The most advanced unit, STU 6603, also uses CPU hardware, requires the same input as the 6602 unit and is password protected. However it offers a larger, 6 inch touch screen which can display volume in % or gallons. Similarly the panel visualises usage trends through graphs and enables data logging of all parameters.
