SIAD Macchine Impianti, S.p.A, has commissioned and sold a new air separation unit (ASU) to PT. Iwatani Industrial Gas Indonesia in Jakarta.
The turnkey plant, which was installed at Iwatani’s facility in Karawang Industrial City, produces a total of 120 tonnes per day (tpd) of liquid oxygen (O2), nitrogen (N2) and argon (Ar).
It is understood that the inauguration of the new site seeks to support the development of the local high-tech industry in Indonesia by supplying high quality liquid products.
The plant was jointly engineered by SIAD’s teams at its headquarters in Bergamo, Italy, and its SIAD Engineering (Hangzhou) division in the Zhejiang Province, China. Financial details of the project were not disclosed.
This is the first engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) plant that SIAD Engineering Hangzhou has manufactured through its engineering centre in China as well as being the first one that the business unit has brought on-stream in South East Asia.
SIAD’s CEO Paolo Ferrario emphasised, “We are proud that our team in SIAD Engineering managed this project and demonstrated with this plant and others, completed or in progress, that the team is fully capable of designing, engineering and fabricating a full range of ASUs from small liquid to large-scale O2 plants to supply both our Chinese and global customers.”
“This plant continues the nearly 90 years of SIAD’s supply of air separation plants, reciprocating compressors and carbon dioxide (CO2) plants to meet our global customers’ requirements for safety, high quality, energy efficiency and low cost,” he added.
SIAD Macchine Impianti is part of the SIAD Group, one of the main industrial groups in Europe. It was established in Bergamo, Italy, in 1927 and is active in the industrial gases, engineering, welding and healthcare sectors.
SIAD Engineering (Hangzhou) is the SIAD Macchine Impianti engineering and procurement centre. The business unit design, engineers and manufactures cryogenic ASUs and assembles reciprocating compressors for Chinese and global customers.
