S.O.A.L, Air Liquide’s subsidiary in Lebanon, Middle East has been underlining its commitment to safety recently as it worked towards providing defensive driving courses.

Safety defensive driving is a form of training for drivers that goes beyond mastery of the rules of the road and the basic mechanics of driving. Its aim is to reduce the risk of driving by anticipating dangerous situations; this can be achieved through adherence to a variety of general rules and specific driving techniques.

One of the mandatory training modules adopted by IM Training department (KM) is the Safety defensive driving. On two non-continuous days, S.O.A.L. and YASA launched a course that improved the driving skills for its collaborators.

Defensive driving courses offered several benefits to S.O.A.L. In many states, a defensive driving course can be taken as a way to avoid accidents and to promote a safety culture.

Meanwhile, S.O.A.L. has also recently been involved in the inauguration of the souks of Beirut providing helium balloons for the realisation of the celebration show.

The souks in the city centre were destroyed in the early years of war. The huge reconstruction project was completed and the modernised souks are now open to the public. An entertainment programme marked the inauguration and a musical show with two trapezes, under helium balloons filled by Air Liquide, was a prominent part of the display.

S.O.A.L. is a subsidiary of Air Liquide Group present in Lebanon since 1928. The company was created in 1961 in association between Air Liquide & two major Lebanese families Salem & Sehnaoui. Air Liquide - S.O.A.L. produces and distributes industrial and medical gases, as well as gas mixtures, in Lebanon.
