As parts of Africa continue the fight against Covid-19, Somalia has opened its first public oxygen plant yesterday (Thursday), said source Africa News.
The plant will be installed at the Banadir Maternity and Children Hospital, which was previously partially destroyed by Islamist militants in July.
According to Africa News, the country has one of the highest case fatality rates on the continent, making the need for a public oxygen plant even more vital.
The facility’s expected oxygen cylinder production is 1,000 per week.
gasworld has reached out to the Hormuud Salaam Foundation, suppliers of the plant, for further details.
