StatoilHydro awards Foster Wheeler Norwegian CO2 FEED contract

Foster Wheeler AG has announced that its UK-headquartered subsidiary has been awarded a contract by StatoilHydro ASA to undertake the front-end engineering design (FEED) for a CO2 adsorption project in Norway.

The subsidiary, Foster Wheeler Energy Limited, has won the contract for the carbon dioxide (CO2)/amine project, at the Åsgard B offshore production facilities in the Norwegian Sea.

Contract value for the project was not disclosed, but will be included in the company’s first-quarter 2009 bookings.

Åsgard B is a semi-submersible production vessel which processes and exports gas and produced condensate from the Smørbukk and Midgard reservoirs in the Norwegian Sea. For its part, Foster Wheeler’s scope of work includes the FEED for de-bottlenecking of the existing amine unit and procurement services for long-lead items.
