Qatargas has been reflecting on two significant milestones of late, after the company not only signed a Heads of Agreement (HOA) with ENARSA in Argentina, but also saw the 5000th LNG tanker load for LNG cargo at Ras Laffan.
In terms of the latter, a significant milestone was reached on 21st June 2011 when the LNG tanker ‘Al-Ghuwairiya’ berthed at Ras Laffan to load her LNG cargo bound for CANAPORT, Canada.
The tanker represented the 5000th such vessel to have berthed at Ras Laffan for an LNG cargo.
The Qatargas chartered vessel is one of the new generation Q-Max LNG tankers able to load a full LNG cargo of 260,000 cubic meters – the vessel is owned by the Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat).
