A-Gas reveals recovery of R22 refrigerant in Mauritius, using A-Gas Rapid Recovery

0

A-Gas South Africa has successfully recovered six tonnes of the phased-out R22 refrigerant from two decommissioned systems on the island of Mauritius, in the Indian Ocean.

Mauritius has no end-of-life refrigerant solution and A-Gas, working with German sustainable development agency GIZ, recovered the high ozone depleting HCFC from the Mauritius Freeport Development site with a portable A-Gas Rapid Recovery system.

A-Gas is the world leader in the supply and lifecycle management of refrigerants and associated products and services.

The recovery and reclamation of these gases is a key pillar of lifecycle refrigerant management as the world moves forward on its journey towards Net Zero. Reducing leakage and recovering existing refrigerants for future re-use has a far greater impact on our climate than the substitution of lower global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants alone.
