As the year draws to a close, BOC has reflected the altruistic spirit of the season by giving back to the community it serves, whilst also launching its 2011 catalogue.
One lucky BOC customer was provided with an early Christmas present when he won an all expenses paid trip to Australia. Dublin based businessman, John Piper entered the competition at his nearby BOC Gas and Gear store on the Ballymun Industrial Estate in Dublin. The promotion encouraged customers to slip into a pair of Steel Blue Safety Boots and enter a free prize draw.
Piper was thrilled to win the competition. He commented, “I feel like the Cinderella of the workplace! The boots fitted perfectly and I won the star prize too – not the hand of a Prince Charming, but better still, a trip to Australia! My wife and I are especially excited about it because our daughter, Susan, and her family live out there. It’ll be an unexpected opportunity to see them – we can’t wait!”
Store Manager, Eoin O’Farrell, highlighted the success of the Steel Blue footwear line as well as the popularity of the promotion. He added, “The footwear has proved to be very popular, and so has the competition. Hundreds of customers tried-on pairs of the safety boots and entered the prize draw. I’m just disappointed that I couldn’t enter!”
