Abu Dhabi awards Nasr production deal


Abu Dhabi is continuing to move forward with its oil production plans as it chases an ambitious capacity target, a sector that gases are intrinsically linked to and gasworld will address at its forthcoming conference.

The emirate has awarded one of the first deals to produce oil from an undeveloped offshore field in more than four decades.

Paris-based Technip has apparently indicated that it has won a front-end engineering and design (Feed) contract for the first phase of development on the field.

The project on the Nasr field is part of the state’s long-term plan to increase offshore oil production capacity from 1.1 million to 1.75 million barrels per day (bpd) by 2019.
