Air Liquide accelerates spend amid double-digit US electronics growth


Industrial gas major Air Liquide has reported double-digit growth in advanced materials and carrier gases in the US so far this year, driven by semiconductor reshoring and new fab developments.

Confirmed on its H1 earnings call today (July 29), the growth signifies the company’s larger push in the market, in which it has invested “close to a billion” over the last 18 months.

Adam Peters, CEO for Air Liquide North America, said that $350m of that was in the US.

“When we look at the market dynamics and think of the reshoring activity that’s taking place in the US right now – and that will be enhanced further by the CHIPS Act – what that’s allowing for is next-generation advanced fabs to be built in the US in particular,” he added.
