Industrial gas major Air Liquide has acquired two German outpatient intensive care companies, intensivLeben and AP-Sachsen.
The two purchased businesses support patients who suffer from chronic respiratory insufficiency, craniocerebral trauma, and neuromuscular diseases.
Together, they manage nine community care centres and employ 138 staff members.
The companies operate in the Saxony region, one of the most densely populated areas in eastern Germany.
Diana Schillag, who oversees Air Liquide’s healthcare activity, said the new companies strengthen its regional presence in Germany by providing care to patients and their families.
“Our ambition is to improve the quality of life of patients and meet their needs at the lowest cost to society, thereby contributing to more efficient and sustainable healthcare systems,” she said.
Air Liquide currently services more than 220,000 patients in Germany and 2.1 million globally through its healthcare activities
