Air Liquide backs up Dow with $200m ASU and pipeline upgrade


Industrial gas major Air Liquide will invest up to $200m to upgrade an air separation unit (ASU) and expand its pipeline network in the US state of Louisiana.

The investment is anchored by a renewed supply contract with Dow Chemical Company, the US-based materials science firm.

The upgrades will support continued supply of oxygen and nitrogen to Dow’s 2,000-acre St Charles Operations site in Taft, Louisiana, while also sharpening efficiency with improved pipeline integration.

“We strive to provide a safe and reliable gas supply that meets our customers’ needs,” said Matthieu Giard, Group Vice-President for the Americas, at Air Liquide.
