Air Liquide’s Russian assets placed under state control


Russian authorities have placed the Russia-based assets of industrial gas major Air Liquide under state administration.

Since 2022 Air Liquide has taken steps to prepare for the threat of Russian state intervention, separating the business and setting aside a provision of €586m.

This long-awaited more gives the Russian government control over the business in Russia. It has taken over other former Europe-owned companies similarly.

The industrial gas major said it was made aware of the decision on 29 August and would examine all available courses of action.
