The North American industrial gas company with a global reach, Air Products, has added yet another string to its bow with a new LNG supply contract. Air Products Director for the region has described it as, “a very important project for Indonesia’s LNG industry.”
Just yesterday, Air Products publicised the agreement with JGC Corporation to supply its proprietary propane pre-cooled mixed refrigerant process and MCR® main heat exchanger for a 2 million ton per year LNG project in Luwuk, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Bill Merlini, Director of LNG Indonesia at Air Products, said on the deal, “We have a long history of working on LNG projects in Indonesia and are pleased to continue to build on our experience and position in the region. Our technology continues to be the leader when it comes to the development of LNG projects around the world.”
He added, ““This is a very important project for Indonesia’s LNG industry and is a key to its continued substantial LNG supply to Japan and East Asia.”
The Donggi-Senoro LNG project, a joint venture between Indonesia’s state-owned oil and gas company, Pertamina, along with Mitsubishi Corporation, Korea Gas Corporation and PT Medco Energi International, is targeted for a 2014 start-up.
