US gas safety and technical body the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) has appointed Eric Rottier, Chief Operating Officer of Air Water America and CEO of its cryogenics equipment division, as chair of its board of directors.
In the role, Rottier is planning to broaden the CGA’s focus on emerging sectors while maintaining its technical leadership in the industry. One priority, he says, is to streamline the development of standards and other safety resources for the gas industry.
Rottier will also lead the CGA’s board of directors and its executive committee.
“I’m honoured to step into the role of chair and help guide CGA’s critical mission to advance safety and technical excellence across the compressed gas industry,” he said.
Rottier has more than three decades of global industrial gas and cryogenic equipment experience.
Alongside Rottier will be Kelvin Dixon, Senior Vice-President at Matheson, a subsidiary of Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation (TNSC), in the vice-chair seat.
Rottier succeeds Jay Worley, Chief Operating Officer of Airgas.
Rich Gottwald, President and CEO of the CGA, said, “Eric Rottier’s leadership, paired with the continued support of Jay Worley and the addition of Kelvin Dixon … positions CGA for another year.”
