Yesterday, Airgas, Inc. announced the acquisition of ABCO Gases, Welding and Industrial Supply Company, Inc. (ABCO).
The Connecticut based business serves medical and industrial customers. Furthermore, with locations across North America, in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire, ABCO benefits from more than 100 employees and boasts annual revenues of approximately $35m.
ABCO is a well-trusted family-firm and according to Tony Simonetta, President of Airgas East, its acquisition by Airgas is a “natural and complimentary fit.” The Waterford located company provides high-purity gases, liquid gases, specialty gas mixes, protocol gases, as well as industrial welding and cutting equipment, automated and robotic welding solutions.
Mike Ross, former ABCO President and recent Airgas East management recruit offered his perspective on the deal. “ABCO and its employees have worked hard for the past 90 years to steadily grow this business and earn the respect of customers,” said Ross.
