Canadian renewable natural gas (RNG) specialist Anaergia has sold its Envo Biogas plant in Tønder, Denmark to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ (CIP) Advanced Bioenergy Fund I, which is developing biogas projects in Europe and North America.
Sold for an undisclosed amount, Anaergia plans for capital gained from the sale to go towards facilitating additional growth, mainly in Italy and Germany.
Having undertaken construction on the Tønder project in late 2021, Anaergia injected the facility’s first biomethane into Danish pipelines in November 2022.
This enabled the facility to qualify for a 20-year Danish Energy Agency biogas subsidy scheme.
