Gas separation system specialist Oxair Gas Systems (Oxair) has called for Australia’s mining industry to embrace the latest on-site gas generating technology to ensure that the industry is supported by a constant supply of nitrogen.
Despite the country’s mines being more reliant on technology the labour-intensive nature of mining creates ever-present safety risks.
By filling truck tyres with nitrogen, mine workers may be safeguarded against the risk of fire when tyres are ruptured.
According to Oxair, these tyres run cooler in extreme temperatures and remain inflated for longer. Unlike compressed air, nitrogen is an inert gas that does react with other materials, making it resistance to corrosion.
