Energy technology company Baker Hughes will supply key equipment to Woodside Energy Group’s Louisiana LNG development, which is targeting a final investment decision (FID) in Q1 2025.
Received from engineering and construction company Bechtel Energy, the order includes eight main refrigeration compressors driven by LM6000PF+ gas turbines and eight expander compressors.
The equipment will support phase one of the project. Once complete, phase one will have a total capacity of approximately 11 million tonnes per annum of LNG.
Woodside acquired the LNG project as part of its $1.2bn purchase of natural gas firm Tellurian. The project was previously called Driftwood LNG, but Woodside changed the name directly after the transaction.
