BCGA issues revision for safe handling and use of medical gas cylinders

The British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA) has issued a revision to Technical Information Sheet (TIS) 36, which covers medical gases and the safe handling and use of gas cylinders fitted with valves with integrated pressure regulators.

According to BCGA, some medical gas cylinders integrate pressure regulators within the cylinder valve. TIS 36 provides advice on the safe handling and use of such cylinders.

Revision 1: 2023 can be downloaded from the publications area of the BCGA’s website.

BCGA plans to outline all of the latest revisions and tackle some of the most pressing topics in the world of compressed gases at its BCGA Conference 2024 to be held on the 16th May at Worsley Park Hotel, Manchester, UK.

Speakers will include Ellen Daniels, CEO of the BCGA; David Hurren founding chair of the BCGA TSC on Alternative Energy; gasworld’s own Rob Cockerill, Content Director; Gemma Jones, Raw Material Technical Manager at M&S; Celia Greaves, Founder and CEO of the UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association, and many more.

The discussions will encompass a range of topics such as nitrous oxide and its legal status, illicit operators in the gases industry, industry safety,  emergency response for alternative fuels, sustainability and CO2 and the food retailer experience.
