BCGA updates major safety code for gas cylinder transport

The British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA) has published its latest guidance on safety surrounding the transport of gas cylinders.

One of the most commonly accessed documents within the association’s library, Code of Practice 50, ‘The Carriage of Gas Cylinders On Vehicles’ was completely rewritten to include up to date details on legal and safety requirements.

The Code also features key information on threshold quantity calculations, compliance – where required – with the Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) and details on roadside inspections.

Gas-fuelled vehicles and fuel labelling, personal safety and incident response guidance are included.
