Welding is the largest use of argon where it provides an inert gas shield to the arc, preventing oxidation of the metals being welded.
In the specialty gas world, ultra-high purity (UHP) argon is favourably utilised in Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP). Butler Gas Products supplies argon in cylinders, liquid Dewars, banks, and microbulk/bulk.
Argon is a colourless, odourless, and tasteless monatomic gas that comprises approximately 1% of the atmosphere. It is nontoxic, non-flammable, and chemically inert. Approximately 38% more dense than air, argon can be liquefied or gaseous, and is available from Butler Gas Products in a variety of purity grades.
