Centrica expands in Asia with Thai LNG deal


UK-headquartered energy company Centrica has signed an agreement with PTT for the Thai state-owned oil and gas company to supply liquefied natural gas for 10 years across a range of destinations in Asia, with deliveries expected to begin in 2028.

The deal marks a step forward in Centrica’s efforts to grow its LNG portfolio in Asia markets.

For PTT, it marks its first, long-term international LNG sale.

It’s been a busy week for PTT, which just announced it will buy 2 million tonnes a year of LNG from Alaska LNG over 20 years under a cooperation deal signed with Glenfarne Alaska LNG.
