Chart signs $12m contract for NH₃ Plant in India

Chart Industries have signed a $12m contract for two KBR Purifier systems in Gujarat.
The contract was awarded in the first quarter by Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO). It covers the mechanical design, fabrication and supply of two KBR Purifier systems to be installed at KRIBHCO’s existing NH₃ plants at the Hazira complex in Gujarat, India.
The decision was delivered as part of a larger refurbishment project to improve overall plant efficiency. Throughout the project, KBR will be operating as the ammonia technology licensor.
The KBR designed cryogenic purification technology removes methane, argon and excess nitrogen from synthesis gas. Furthermore, it uses air, instead of oxygen, in the reforming section of the ammonia plant which eliminates the need for costly air separation units.
