The German technology and equipment specialist, WITT, recently released its first safety relief valve for hydrogen powered vehicles.
The new addition to WITT’s extensive portfolio is designed to meet the latest safety demands as set-out by the European Parliament. The new guidelines will be enforced from the beginning of February 2011.
WITT’s latest valve, the SV 811, meets the new safety requirements. It is also approved for installation in passenger cars and buses. In addition, it protects the vehicles hydrogen system from dangerous overpressure in a broad spectrum of pressures from 2 to 45 BAR.
WITT has designed the valves to be compact and easily installed with various connection options. Furthermore, the valves may be installed independent of location and undergo individual testing before being delivered.
