Delfin Midstream accelerates FLNG plans with new engineering contract

Delfin Midstream has signed a design and engineering contract for the development of floating liquified natural gas (FLNG) vessels for its deepwater port projects in North America.

The US export infrastructure company has appointed Wison Offshore & Marine to develop the FLNG units to support the export of US natural gas to worldwide markets.

Port Delfin is a proposed deepwater port and floating LNG facility that will be located approximately 50 miles off the coastline of Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The Delfin LNG project is believed to be the first offshore floating natural gas liquefaction facility in the US.

Global merchant commodities firm Hartree Partners LP is conducting marketing operations to Chinese LNG buyers on Delfin’s behalf and Delfin is also progressing the development of additional Deepwater Port projects in North America in cooperation with its existing midstream and financial partners.
