In the absence of a vaccine or known treatment plan for Covid-19, medical oxygen remains a key vital therapy for infected patients with acute respiratory problems. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), around 15% of Covid-19 patients see rapid lung failure and require help with breathing. With roughly one million new Covid-19 infections reported every week around the globe, the WHO estimates the world needs about 620,000 cubic meters of oxygen a day, about 88,000 large cylinders, to treat the current rate of new cases.
