Elme Messer Gaas constructs high capacity plant in Estonia

Elme Messer Gaas has announced plans to construct a new gas plant in Vaivara, Estonia. The new facility will produce oxygen, nitrogen and argon at a rate of 80million m³ industrial gases per annum.
The unit is set to commence operation in 2012 and is to be located in Auvere, Vaivara. The gas plant’s remit includes supplying Eesti Energia Õlitööstus with nitrogen necessary for production of shale oil.
Igor Kond, Head of the Board of the firm, remarked, “The concluded agreement with Elme Messer Gaas will provide us for a long term with nitrogen, that is needed for production that the Enefit-280 technology needs more than other technologies used for production of shale oil. It was important for us to find a partner who would invest in project and offer us a service at optimal cost.”
Raimond Morgenson, Chief of Elme Messer Gaas, explained the importance of collaboration. He commented, “Collaboration with Eesti Energia Õlitööstus is important for us not only because of construction of a unique production complex, but also because of the opportunity to implement the project which will allow us to become independent in supplying the product. This plant will allow us to cover the needs for industrial gases in Baltic States and to enter new markets, including Northwestern Russia.”
According to Morgenson, Elme Messer Gaas is set to invest approximately €30m in the Ida-Virumaa district over the next few years. Elme Messer Gaas was established in 1999 by BLRT Grupp and Messer Group, today the company benefits from offices located across the Baltic States and offers a full variety of gases for construction and industrial purposes.
