Foster Wheeler AG’s UK subsidiary has won the Order of Distinction Award for Occupational Health and Safety for the fourth consecutive year.
The accolade distributed by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) is only presented to companies which have attained at least 15 consecutive RoSPA Gold Awards for outstanding health and safety performance around the globe.
Troy Roder, Chairman and CEO of Foster Wheeler Energy Limited conveyed the importance placed upon safety. He said, “We take great pride in receiving once again the prestigious RoSPA Order of Distinction Award for our 2010 safety performance. This award reflects our company’s commitment to health and safety and the dedication of our employees who share our company’s core values and our drive to maintain the world-class health and safety performance of which we are all very proud. Maintaining this high standard takes tremendous effort and focus, and we are implementing a range of new health and safety initiatives to ‘raise the bar’ even higher.”
RoSPA, a safety-focused charity, launched its award program 55 years ago. The scheme takes into account accident records as well as entrants’ health and safety management systems – from strong leadership to active workforce involvement.
