Foster Wheeler wins contract with Daewoo in Indonesia

Yesterday, Foster Wheeler AG announced that a subsidiary company of its Global Power Group has won a contract with Daewoo Engineering Company.

The agreement covers the design and supply of two circulating fluidised-bed (CFB) steam generators for PT Merak Energi. The project will be located on the western region of Java Island in Indonesia.
Mark Garvey, CEO of Foster Wheeler Power Group Asia, said, $quot;We are pleased to have an opportunity to again demonstrate Foster Wheeler’s state-of-the-art CFB technology in Indonesia. Our CFB technology has proven itself as an excellent choice for the clean combustion of coal and other solid fuels.$quot;
Foster Wheeler has received a full notice to proceed on this contract. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, although the value will be included in the company’s third quarter 2010 bookings. Commercial start-up of the new steam generators is scheduled for Q3 of 2010. Foster Wheeler will design and supply the two 60 MWe CFB steam generators and auxiliary equipment as well as providing advice for the project.
