Gas standards under spotlight in India after major incidents


Two separate incidents involving gaseous oxygen have dominated headlines in India in recent days, raising fresh concerns over safety standards and infrastructure.

In Punjab’s Mohali district, two workers were killed and three others injured on Wednesday after a blast tore through an oxygen cylinder filling plant.

“A blast was reported today at an oxygen plant located in Industrial Area, Phase 9,” said the district commissioner of Mohali in a post on social media platform X yesterday.
