The invitation for bids date attached to the planned sale of the Federal Helium System in the US has been pushed back by 60 days, delegates at gasworld’s Helium Super Summit learned today.
The General Services Administration (GSA)’s recent plan was for bidders to present themselves by 13 November and for bidding itself to open on 15 November. Now, the invitation for bids has been extended into mid-January.
Melanie Barnes, the New Mexico State Director for the Bureau of Land Management, told more than 400 delegates in Houston that the extension would be confirmed by the GSA shortly.
There is a lot of activity and different legal plays at stake in relation to the sale of the Federal Helium System, so the extension appears to buy some time for some more clarity to emerge.
