Hydrogen highway build out: Number of stations reach record high in 2016
The largest ever number of new hydrogen (H2) refuelling stations were opened in 2016, with the record number continuing to build out the world’s H2 highway.
As of January 2017, a total of 274 H2 refuelling stations were in operation across the globe, almost 30% of which were inaugurated last year alone.
The statistics highlight that 83 of the 92 stations that were opened in 2016 are publicly-accessible. The others are dedicated to refuelling buses and fleets.
