The Canadian, Hydrogenics Corporation, looks set to deliver a complete electrolysis based hydrogen fuelling station to Istanbul, Turkey.
Hydrogenics is known as a leading developer and manufacturer of hydrogen generation and fuel cell products. In keeping with the firm’s expertise, it is set to install a full turnkey hydrogen fuelling station to the Turkish region of Golden Horn, part of the historic inlet of Bosphorous. The new facility will be capable of producing 65 kg of hydrogen per day. Thanks to the coastal location, the new unit will serve both land and sea transportation applications.
Daryl Wilson, President and CEO of Hydrogenics was pleased with the firm’s ability to win in such a competitive climate. He commented, “We are pleased to have been awarded Turkey’s first hydrogen fuelling station in a competitive tendering process that demonstrated Hydrogenics’ ability to respond to the increase in market interest for Hydrogen Fuelling Stations in Europe.”
“Our ability to deliver a complete offering addressing quality, safety and economic requirements further demonstrates that Hydrogenics has the expertise, people and technology to manufacture, install and commission complete hydrogen fueling stations throughout the world,” concluded Wilson.
The contract was awarded courtesy of The International Centre for Hydrogen Energy Technologies (ICHET), founded in Istanbul during 2004. The project falls under the remit of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and is supported by the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
