INOX Air Products reaches 10,000 tpd milestone at Gujarat

INOX Air Products (INOXAP)’s industrial gas complex in Gujarat has broken through the 10,000 tonnes per day (tpd) gases barrier, following the commissioning of its new 1,000 tpd plant at AMNS Hazira, where a giant steel plant is under construction.

The company’s six air separation units now form India’s largest onsite industrial complex.

In a LinkedIn post, the company said, “This landmark achievement stands as a true testament to our engineering excellence, relentless teamwork and trusted reliability.”

AMNS India is a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, which is building the Hazira steel plant.

Last month, INOXAP commissioned its first green hydrogen manufacturing plant at the float glass facility of Asahi India Glass in Soniyana in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, in north-western India.

The glass manufacturer has agreed a 20-year offtake with INOXAP.

The solar powered-plant will have capacity to generate up to 190 tonnes of green hydrogen annually through electrolysis, starting with 95 tonnes per annum.

Overall, INOXAP has 25% market share in industrial gases in India, making it the country’s second largest producer, according to a brand-new gasworld Intelligence report.

The commercial industrial gases market in India generated revenues of just over $1.82bn in 2024, up from $1.3bn in 2014.

The metallurgical industry is by far the largest end-user of industrial gas in India, accounting for 39% of total sales (equivalent to $708m).
