Linde North America recently won a Responsible Care® certificate for the management systems in place at its ASU in Pennsylvania. The award was granted to the joint venture facility between Linde North America and Air Products.
The award is distributed by the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and on this occasion was won by the East Coast Oxygen ASU, situated in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Warren Arenz, Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality for Linde North America commended the group’s efforts. He remarked, “I congratulate the entire Linde team at the East Coast Oxygen plant, who worked very hard for this certification. Recognition of the plant demonstrates the employees’ total involvement in Linde’s commitment to sustaining the practices specified in the Responsible Care management system.”
This marks the fourth Responsible Care certificate of the year for Linde and its 16th since 2008. Plant Manager, Tim Lynn, responded, “We are proud to receive the ACC’s Responsible Care certification. It recognizes Linde as a leader in safety, healthy working conditions, and environmental responsibilities. The certification is a demonstration to our employees, the community and our customers that Linde is a proud and responsibly managed member of the community.”
Responsible Care certification is mandatory for all ACC members and involves comprehensive headquarter and facility audits. Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) is currently acting as Linde’s independent auditor.
