Linde will invest $2bn to build what it believes to be the largest clean hydrogen production facility in Canada, marking its largest-ever single investment.
Unveiled today (27th August), the Alberta-based clean hydrogen and atmospheric gases facility will supply Dow’s Fort Saskatchewan’s Path2Zero project.
The complex will use autothermal reforming, combined with Linde’s HISORP® carbon capture technology, to produce clean hydrogen. It will also recover hydrogen contained in off-gases from Dow’s ethylene cracker.
During the first phase, Linde will supply clean hydrogen, nitrogen, and other services to Dow’s integrated ethylene cracker and derivatives site. In addition to supplying the Net Zero project, it will also supply existing and new industrial customers in the region.
