Where better to draw attention to the economic benefits of new technology than Washington?
In under a week, The Linde Group will be maximising in on one such opportunity when it will take part in the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association Conference.
The event is set to take place at the political hub of the United States, at the Gaylord National Hotel and Conference Centre in Washington DC. Preparations are underway for Linde to join a cohort of other exhibiting firms from 13th – 16th February 2011.
Linde North America has announced plans to feature its innovative hydrogen fuelling technologies for various types of vehicles including forklift trucks, buses and automobiles.
Mike Beckham, Head of the Linde North America’s Alternative Energy Team described his hopes regarding the commercial uptake of hydrogen fuelling. He commented, “Over the past several years Linde technologies have been used successfully to fuel a variety of hydrogen vehicles. I think we’ve proven that hydrogen fueled vehicles are viable commercial alternatives. Based on the positive results that have been demonstrated, I’m confident that we’ll see commercialization grow at a much faster pace over the next few years.”
Linde’s cooperation in the annual event is more than just exhibitional. Indeed, Markus Bachmeier, Head of Global Hydrogen Solutions for Linde, will be a keynote speaker and Steve Eckhardt, Linde North America’s west coast Head of Alternative Energy Business Development, will present a paper focused on high performance auto hydrogen fueling.
Furthermore, team experts will be on hand to discuss recent developments such as the Linde Ionic Compressor System. Unlike more conventional units, which operate via a piston during pressurisation, the Ionic Compressor uses an ionic liquid that is in direct contact with hydrogen.
Beckham reflected, “The Ionic Compressor is a step change in the area of hydrogen fuelling.” He went on, “It is a high-efficiency, high-throughput, low-maintenance and low-noise compression solution to allow fast and safe filling of vehicles.”
In addition, the firm will also highlight the Linde MF-90 high performance containerised compressor system, which boasts the ability to efficiently supply both 350 bar and 700 bar hydrogen to automobiles.
The firm may be found during the event at booth number 313.
