Linde sees ‘record year’ for small on-site projects

Linde has seen a record year for small on-site projects having signed 52 new projects for the supply of nitrogen and oxygen in 2022 – a 21% increase compared with 2021. The company attributed this increase to the growing demand for next-generation energy storage, in addition to continued demand from electronics, manufacturing, metals and mining.

Linde’s small on-site projects use the company’s ECOVAR supply systems, which comprise a standard plant and a back-up unit to ensure sites are equipped with a year-round uninterrupted supply of gases.

According to Linde, its new projects require investments under $5m and will ‘deliver steady revenue and contribute to Linde’s underlying growth.’

“The growth in demand for next-generation lithium-ion batteries for consumer electronics, electric vehicles and other industrial applications has stimulated an impressive increase in activity across the energy storage value chain,” said Sanjiv Lamba, CEO of Linde.
