Industrial gases major Messer has appointed Elena Skvortsova as President and CEO of the Americas region.
In addition to being President and CEO, Skvortsova will also join Messer’s Management Board as Chief Operating Officer of the Americas.
Skvortsova succeeds Jens Luehring, who exited the company upon Messer’s completion of the acquisition of Messer Industries, the joint venture with CVC Capital Partners.
The deal, which includes Messer’s companies in North and South America in addition to Western Europe, is part of the company’s plan to bring together its global activities under one roof to implement a sustainable growth strategy as an integrated gases specialist.

Bernd Eulitz, CEO of Messer, welcomed Skvortsova to the role, recognising her as a distinguished and experienced executive who has led organisations globally.

With an accomplished career spanning 30 years in oil, gas, petrochemicals, industrial gases, pharma, biotech, and medtech, Skvortsova brings a wealth of experience. Before joining Messer, Skvortsova worked in the industrial gases sector, serving as President, Middle East & Eastern Europe at Linde AG in Munich.
