MOL Clean Energy invests in ‘world-scale’ hydrogen-ammonia project in Louisiana

MOL Clean Energy US, a 100% subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.L. Lines, has been named as a new shareholder for a proposed clean hydrogen-ammonia production and export facility in Louisiana, expected to produce 7.2 million metric tonnes of product annually.

Called Ascension Clean Energy – or ACE – the project is a $7.5bn investment that will utilise clean hydrogen-ammonia production to supply the world’s growing clean energy market and position Louisiana as a global leader in decarbonisation.

As a shareholder of the project, MOL Clean Energy joins project lead Clean Hydrogen Works, carbon solutions provider Denbury, and oil product tanker owner and operator Hafnia.
