NEH Midstream announces long-term $118m helium off-take for New Era Helium

US-based subsidiary of New Era Helium Corp, NEH Midstream (NEH), has announced finalised sales off-take agreements for 100% of the helium to be produced from its Pecos Slope plant to be built just north of Roswell, New Mexico.

To be constructed by Arjae Design Solutions, the 20,000 MCF (million cubic feet) per day facility will produce around 2.7m standard cubic feet (MMscf) of high purity crude helium, in addition to 477,000 MCF (million cubic feet) per month of methane and 32,545 barrels per months of natural gas liquids (NGLs).

Following a successful RFQ (request for quote) process undertaken with assistance from Kornbluth Helium Consulting LLC, NEH finalised two long term take-or-pay agreements for its helium. The first part will see the company sell 50% of the plant’s helium output in the form of bulk liquid helium to AirLife Gases USA.

The remaining 50% will be sold as high purity crude gaseous helium to an unnamed ‘Tier 1’ international gas supplier who NEH claims to be one of the leaders in the global helium business.
