North American CO2 Summit: CO2 sourcing is changing

Rich Gottwald, President and CEO of the Compressed Gas Association (CGA), has just described CO2 as the invisible industry, but notes that things are starting to change.

“77% of CO2 is dedicated to the food and beverage market in the US. It’s critical to the food and beverage supply chain,” Gottwald told delegates. “But aside from this key usage of CO2, it is also seen as a greenhouse gas.”

He continued, “CO2 is generally viewed as a gas that must be avoided. And there’s increasing policy and legislation in the US and around the world to limit CO2 industrial atmosphere conditions.”
