Overcoming barriers in biogas to achieve Net Zero


Long considered a problem to be managed, waste is rapidly becoming a solution to the challenge of achieving Net Zero. But could it hold the potential to reshape the energy landscape and help overcome the barriers associated with attaining a truly sustainable future?

Giving a voice to the biogas industry is the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA), the UK’s leading trade association for the wider biogas industry including operators and equipment suppliers.

The organisation oversees the country’s 723 operational AD plants, which underpin an industry that digests approximately 46 million tonnes of organic material each year – waste that would otherwise emit greenhouse gas if left untreated in landfill.
