Australia’s Pilot Energy has joined forces with CO2 marine transportation and storage solutions provider Knutsen NYK Carbon Carriers (KNCC) to develop an integration solution for marine transportation and offshore injection on CO2.
Under terms of a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the duo will focus on the Cliff Head CCS Project, Pilot Energy’s development in the Northern Perth Basin and part of the Midwest Clean Energy Project.
The Cliff Head CCS Project involves the conversion of the operating Cliff Head offshore oil field into a permanent CO2 storage operation, capable of storing over one million tonnes per annum of CO2 on a continuous basis through to 2050.
