Biofuels producer POET has partnered with Summit Carbon Solutions (Summit) to capture the value of biogenic carbon dioxide (CO2) from the bioethanol production process.
To do this, the partnership will combine 12 of POET’s facilities in Iowa and five facilities in South Dakota with Summit’s carbon capture and storage project, which hopes to ultimately sequester up to 18 million metric tonnes of CO2 per year.

POET’s facilities will facilitate the capture, transportation, and permanent storage of 4.7 million metric tonnes of CO2 annually.
