Praxair India Private Limited, India’s leading industrial gases supplier, has announced from Bangalore that it has won a contract to supply gaseous nitrogen to Tata Steel Limited, a major Indian steel company.
Praxair India has been associated with Tata Steel’s Jamshedpur facility since 2005, and has built three large air separation units with a total capacity of 2,625 tons per day (tpd) that supply gaseous oxygen, nitrogen and argon.
Further strengthening the association, Tata steel has contracted for an additional 600 tpd of high-pressure gaseous nitrogen.
“With a strong commitment to safety and reliability of supply, Praxair shall continue to support Tata Steel in enhancing their steel production,” commented Joe Cappello, President of Praxair Asia.
